What to Do While You’re Bored in the House and in the House Bored
In my opinion, staying at home is one of the hardest things to do. While I’m in introvert at heart, I still love the occasional getting together for drinks with friends, going out to dinner, shopping through stores spending money that I don’t need to be spending, etc. Though quarantine gives us some much needed relaxing time, I’m going crazy! So I’ve rounded up a few things that could keep you (and me) busy while we wait for this whole thing to be over.
I am no where near an artist. Hell, I’m 23 and still can’t stay in between the lines when I color. However, it takes up so much time and is such an easy way to clear your head and take some time for yourself. I will pick up and brush or a marker and go to town on a page, and next thing I know two hours have gone by. Turn on your favorite playlist, lock yourself away in your room, and get out your favorite utensils because baby, you’re going to be the next Picasso.
Though I love to cook, I am definitely not the best at it. I still tend to burn things even though I follow the recipe from start to finish. Quarantine has allowed me to pick up some cooking skills that I didn’t know I had! Baking is my expertise, though. I have already baked chocolate chip cookies, brownies, s’mores bars, strawberry shortcake and so much more! It’s a fun way to try out some new foods that you didn’t think you would like before, too.
I dread exercising as much as the next person, but lately I have been going on walks in the morning that have improved my mood so much! Staying inside for months on end can put a damper on your overall mental and emotional health, not to mention physical. Exercising is a great way to boost your endorphins, get you moving, and pass the time! Depending on the weather in the morning, I dress accordingly and walk for about an hour. Usually within that hour I can hit up to almost 3 miles! Sometimes I’ll stop and grab a coffee on the way, and I love to people watch so that makes it fun too!
START A BLOG
Starting a blog is something that I never thought I would do, let alone this soon. Being home with nothing do made me have a lot to think about, and I decided to start a blog to have somewhere to put my words. I’m still getting the hang of it, but it has allowed me to express myself in ways I hadn’t. You can either write about things you know, or things you’re learning, or just use it as a journal. The opportunities are endless!
I really shouldn’t be condoning this with everything that’s going on and all the money that we don’t have, but I’m a shopaholic. Online shopping is something I do almost every day, whether it’s actually buying something or just putting it in my cart and never buying it. It’s just something that I think is fun, passes the time, and also subconsciously gives me inspiration for outfits of my own.
I use to be really big in to reading- so big that I even bought myself my own Kindle. Well, I stopped using it for almost a year and now I’m back to using it everyday! I love having just one thing to carry all my books on. I find myself loosing track of time when I’m on my Kindle. Very refreshing and it gives you the chance to read books you never would have read before!
